Trails for Hiking/Cycling
Although the tracks are gone, the rail trails left behind serve a continuing purpose, a route for cyclists, hikers and snowmobilers.

  • The 55km Victoria Rail Trail north leads from the Garnet Graham Lakeshore Park through the village of Burnt River and on into Kinmount.
  • Other trails suited to hiking include: The Somerville Forest Tract located west of Kinmount on Kawartha Lakes Road 45. This 3420 hectare forest property has three trail loops for a total of 8.5 km.
  • The Balsam Lake Provincial Park on Kawartha Lakes Road 48, west of Coboconk, also has two hiking trails, the Plantation Trail and the Lookout Trail, which provide a combined 7 km of hiking excellence.
